For actor Varun Sandesh, shooting in Bangkok certainly had its share of misadventures. According to sources, the actor was involved in a brawl at a restaurant in Thailand’s capital. The situation turned so serious that he had to be whisked away to a nearby hotel.
A source told DC that Varun, who was a little “tipsy” at the time, had an argument with a local girl and within minutes, a large “hostile” crowd gathered around him. “In the beginning, there were just five to 10 guys, but then suddenly, there were dozens. A few punches were thrown at Varun. A crew member then rushed to help and others ran to inform Manchu Manoj, who was nearby,” the source said. The Manchus were unavailable for a comment on the incident.
Another source confirmed the bust-up: “It all started when Varun brushed against a local. Police finally arrived on the scene and Varun was taken to the hotel. The shoot next day continued according to schedule. We suspect the group Varun had trouble with is linked to the local mafia.”
