Some 'comic relief' for Siddharth

Though leading producer L. Subramaniam burnt his hands with the Siddharth-starrer 'NH4', he is roping in the star once again. And while he reportedly lost his total investment of three to four crore in the movie, he has gone ahead and spent seven to eight crore again.

So what’s different this time? Sources tell us that the producer has a wild card up his sleeve, one that reads Brahmanandam.

Subramaniam apparently laid a condition on Tamil director C. Sundar, Kushboo’s husband, to bring in comedian Brahmanandam for the Telugu version of the Tamil film 'Theeya Velasaiyanum' to ensure that the audiences kept coming back, amply proving that the comedian was a bigger crowd puller.

Even the posters of the film with Brahmanandam, along with lead pair Siddharth and Hansika, clearly established that the star comedian was the USP of the film.

"The producer lost heavily on 'NH4' and was reluctant to take up this film with Siddharth again, but when Tamil director Sundar agreed to rope in Brahmanandam for the Telugu version (the Tamil version had actor Santhanam), the producer agreed and paid a few crores more," says an industry source.

In the film, the comedian will be seen as a love guru who guides Siddharth to connect with his lover.

"We can't reveal the details but Brahmanandam will enthral with his hilarious performance," says producer Subramaniam, refusing to compare between Brahmi and Sid.

"Brahmanandam's performances have contributed to many recent hits. But Siddharth is the hero of our film and no two ways about it," he points out.
