Exactly a year ago, Ram Charan Teja tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend Upasana Kamineni, at Temple trees, Moinabad. One year later, on his first wedding anniversary, here's a recap of the glittering affair that was the wedding and reception, and a quick look at what Ram Charan has been upto post his marriage.
The wedding was a glittering affair, with big names from the southern film industry and politics attending and blessing the couple.
At 9.25 am on Thursday superstar Ram Charan Tej placed the traditional jillakarra bellam on his childhood sweetheart Upasana’s head amid cheers and blessings of the 3000-odd guests at the Temple Tree Farm House, Moinabad.
If ever there was an instance of seeing a galaxy of stars during the day, this was it. From superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s towering presence to Rajnikant, Mohan Babu, Venkatesh, Ambarish, Jr NTR, Vishnu Manchu, Laxmi Manchu, Rana, Shriya Saran, Sridevi, Boney Kapoor and Srikanth, everyone who was anyone in the industry was there.
Despite a flurry of guests on stage, Charan and Upasana seemed cheerful and performed all the rituals with dedication.
'The ceremony was purely meant for a select VVIP gathering and nearly 4000 guests graced the occasion,' said a source.
The reception, held in the evening was an extravagant affair with stars like Rajanikanth, Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjun turning up to bless the new couple.
Held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, the reception was also attended by Ram Charan's actor friends -- cousin Allu Arjun, Rana Daggubati and many others.
The reception was hosted exclusively for fans, and they attended in hordes.
Around 6,000 people gathered at the venue to catch a glimpse of their newly-married star.

After the wedding, Ram Charan, along with wife Upasana, father Chiranjeevi and mother Surekha, visited the Tirumala Tirupati shrine to seek blessings.

Ram Charan's first release post his wedding was 'Nayak', which released in January 2013. Ram Charan played a dual role in the film, and Kajal Agarwal and Amala Paul played the female leads. It was released worldwide to positive reviews and was declared a financial success.
Ram Charan's Bollywood debut, in the remake of Amitabh Bachchan classix hit 'Zanjeer', is almost ready. The movie was shot simultaneously in Hindi (Zanjeer) and Telugu (Thoofan). Priyanka Chopra acts opposite Ram Charan in the movie. Amitabh Bachchan, who played the lead role in the original 'Zanjeer,' will be making a special appearance in the remake.
When Ram Charan's father, Union Tourism Minister K Chiranjeevi left for the Cannes Film Festival 2013 on an official visit, Ram Charan joined the party, along with wife Upasana and mother Surekha.
'Yevadu', starring Ram Charan opposite Shruti Haasan and Amy Jackson, is almost complete, and is slated to release on July 25. The film has Allu Arjun and Kajal Aggarwal playing cameos as a friendly gesture to Ram Charan. Touted as suspense thriller, Yevadu will have Devi Sri Prasad composing the music.
With 'Yevadu' inching closer to completion, Ram Charan's new untitled Telugu project with Koratala Siva was launched in Hyderabad on May 31. Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan's wife Upasana and Bandla Ganesh too were present at the occasion.
