Taking advantage of the Hyderabad Metro Rail announcement in February this year stating that about 50,000 jobs will provided for local youth, Middlemen are looting the unemployed with false promises like pay Rs 1 lakh for the much coveted government job in Metro Rail.
Hyderabad Metro Rail officials were shocked to know about the fake job application forms which have been sold in small outlets for Rs 25 near the Metro Rail Bhavan. Brokers and Placement Agencies have already began charging processing fee from the aspiring candidates assuring the job they wished. Rumours have been in circulation that there are also quotas in jobs such as Local, Non-Local and Telangana.
Apparently, the jobs in Metro Rail can only be private not government as it is a public-private partnership venture. Although the Hyderabad Metro Rail has accepted some job applications in the beginning, later the process has been halted and the recruitment will begin only before the commencement of the Metro operations.
L&T Officials have confirmed that Hyderabad Metro Rail will begin operations only by July 2017 and urged the people not to believe false claims. It is learnt that only 2,500 out of the 50,000 jobs will be catered for Engineering Graduated.
