At 21, Sriram Muramalla, with his melodious voice and exceptional sporting skills, is nothing short of a prodigy.
The state-level cricketer is also a scholar and has never once missed the badge of merit. So how does he manage to do it all? “Both my parents are specialised doctors. Education has always been of great importance in my family. While my father has been very encouraging about my sporting career, he always maintained that a sound education was a must,” says Sriram.
Sriram has been in the sporting arena since he was the age of 12. Interestingly his first tryst was not with cricket, “I started out with badminton and have won some major national titles, but when I started playing cricket, I realised where my heart was.”
Not surprisingly, there is more to this young lad than just sports and studies. This GITAM student has also been trained in Carnatic music and loves singing. “My mother has been singing all her life and she made sure I imbibed her passion for singing.”
Sriram is soon going to lend his voice in an upcoming Telugu film directed by Satya Prasad Kasturi. “This is just the beginning, there is so much more to achieve and by the will of God I will,” signs off Sriram.
