Ram Charan's debut in Bollywood 'Zanjeer' and it's Telugu version 'Thoofan'.

The original film 'Zanjeer' was said to be jinxed because of the problems that dogged it during its making, but the Telugu version of the ’70s hit — 'Thoofan' — starring Ram Charan Teja and Priyanka Chopra, seems to be making up for it. The rights of the film is reported to be bought for Rs 50 crore. Along with the all-India rights for the Telugu version 'Thoofan', the producer will also be allowed to release the Hindi version of 'Zanjeer' in AP.

The movie is being shot simultaneously in Hindi (Zanjeer) and Telugu (Thoofan). Priyanka Chopra reprises Jaya Bachchan's role in the modern version of the movie. Ram Charan and Priyanka get up close and persona in a sizzling still from 'Thoofan' Prakash Raj plays the role of Teja, which was played by Ajit in the original 'Zanjeer.' Sunjay Dutt was chosen to play Sher Khan, originally played by Pran, in the Hindi Version. But it remains to be seen if Sanjay will be able to fulfill his commitments, with him now being sentenced to jail. Sri Hari plays Sher Singh in the Telugu version, 'Thoofan'.

"We were truly amazed by Ram Charan’s performance in the trailer and we have no doubts he is going to draw the crowds yet again, this time adding lakhs of pan-Indian viewers to his huge following," said producer Nattikumar. Amitabh Bachchan, who played the lead role in the original 'Zanjeer,' will be making a special appearance in the remake. Will Ram Charan be able to fill Amitabh Bachchan's big shoes? Only time will tell.
