Petrol prices hiked by Rs1.55 per litre, fourth price hike in last eight weeks | Business & Finance

It isn’t news that the rupee has been going weaker against the dollar lately – and therefore it was only a matter of time before yet another revision in petrol prices was announced.

News is out that petrol prices will go up by up to Rs 1.55 per litre and the new prices will be effective from tonight. This figure is exclusive of the taxes and therefore we expect the actual prices to go up by up to Rs 2.00 per litre across the country.

The petrol price hike is the fourth of its kind in the past eight weeks, with the last announcement having come on June 28. Prices of diesel remain unchanged so far, but we won't be surprised if diesel prices are revised as well in the near future.
