Filmmaker Gunasekhar who wishes to bring grandeur look for his projects at the time making its self will repeat again for his historical venture Anushka lead "Rudramadevi". Art Director Ashok is in the process of erecting Thousand Pillar Temple and Rangamandapam set at Annapurna Seven Acres. As per the director 35% shooting took place in this set.
Earlier also Gunashekar erected huge sets for his films. Calcutta Slum set in Chiru's "Choodalanivundi", Bridge set in "Mrugaraaju", replica of Charminar in "Okkadu", Madurai Temple for "Arjun" and now this 1000 pillar temple in "Rudramadevi". Basic story line is more important for any project. Mere huge sets can't help the fate of the movie if there is no proper subject. These huge sets worked out well for Choodalanivundi and Okkadu but not for Mrugaraju and Arjun.
Reportedly, shooting of the movie is progressing at brisk pace. Two songs and two action sequences with Anushka had finished. Expected to finish the movie by this December. Gunasekhar is taking risk by selecting the historical line. Hope Anushka would bail out him this time.
