Vaani Kapoor, whose debut Bollywood film Shuddh Desi Romance is yet to hit the screens, has been roped in to pair opposite Nani for the Tamil/Telugu remake of popular Bollywood hit Band Baaja Baaraat that starred Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh.
The untitled remake film needed a fresh face for the female lead and the quest has finally come to an end as the makers have zeroed in on a B-Town actress Vaani Kapoor. As is known, Yash Raj Films, Bollywood leading production house, will be making its production foray into the South Indian industry and Nani will be the first South hero in YRF's new journey.
Debutante Gokul Krishna, a protege of Vishnuvardhan, will be wielding the megaphone for the film and it was also reported that both Nani and Vani Kapoor play the lead pair in Telugu and Tamil languages. Nani has made forey in Tamil film industry with a couple of films, but it was Naan Ee (Tamil version of Eega) that brought him fame in Tamil.
